Building Your Brand Awareness Locally
Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 31.05.13 by John Meloche
In yesterday’s blog, we began discussing the importance of advertising within your community. If you’re not popular with those who live closest to the location of your business, then what’s the point in being there, right? On TheHeartLinkNetwork.com, Dawn Billings writes that there are many creative ways to advertise in your community. They include everything from sponsoring sports teams to donating raffle prizes.
It’s all about making personal connections. This is why promotional gifts work so well. At Synergy Marketing, we’re experts at helping business owners make those connections. Our gifts are useful, practical and handy ways to tell customers that you care about them. In today’s blog, we’ll look at a few more ways that entrepreneurs can get closer with their community members.
Advertise in your grocery stores. Billings points out that there is a much more unique and interesting way to advertise than putting up a bulletin in your local supermarket. Contact the manager of local area grocery stores and see if they allow advertisers to place business ads on the back of their cash register receipts, she suggests. You may have just stumbled upon an excellent way to boost your brand.
Advertise at concerts. Summer is just around the corner. In fact, it’s practically here! There are bound to be a series of outdoor concert events that you can sponsor. You should also be able to set up tables at these events that will help you to pass out your promo gifts and connect with concert-goers. Spreading awareness about your brand has never been so cool!
Get in on Grand Openings. Billings notes that local businesses who are starting up often have Grand Openings that involve the giving away of freebies. There’s nothing like partnering up with a fresh new brand to give your company a fresh new image. As long as the new business is not a direct competitor, it may be a good idea to contact the owner to see if your can donate products that include your business information for giveaways.
Support those who support you. Keeping with the concept of working with other businesses, Billings writes that you should “exchange business cards, fliers and coupons with another Direct Sales consultant. Every time you hand out a customers order, place one of her business cards into your bag, and vice-versa.” That way, you’re sure to increase your brand awareness to new customers.
Put your business knowledge to work. Naturally, it’s important to advertise. But it’s also important to actually prove that you’re as good as you say you are. Do you consider yourself an expert in your field? If so, Billings encourages you to call up your local colleges, cooking schools and craft stores among other places to see if you can come in to teach a class.
Our Synergy Marketing staff is made up individuals who consider themselves experts in their field. This is why our company has been successful in making other companies successful.
