Depositphotos_17437129_xsIncluded with all of the hoopla over this coming Sunday’s SuperBowl game is the talk about the various commercials that will be aired during the event’s broadcast. In yesterday’s blog, we revealed that many of those commercials are already available for viewing online. For most business owners though, having a SuperBowl commercial made is out of the question.

After all, with ad space commanding upwards of $4 million for a 30 second slot, only the “big boys” truly can afford it. However, not being included in such as esteemed circle doesn’t mean that you don’t run a successful business. There is room for companies of all shapes and sizes. It’s just that some of them require advertising means that aren’t so expensive. Not to fear, there is plenty that you can do on a budget!

On WikiHow.com, a list of cost-effective promotional suggestions is listed. So even though SuperBowl Sunday is on its way, there’s still time to adopt ways that you can boost your brand without worrying about forking over major cash. At Synergy Marketing, we know a thing or two about advertising on a budget. So we’d like to offer our views on WikiHow.com’s list.

Use free publicity. The site writes that “sometimes this is even better than paid advertising because it is news and that impresses people.” So what you may want to do is write a press release that provides an interesting story related to your field. You could discuss your company’s anniversary, the hiring of a new employee, the celebration of one or more of your employees or whatever else will catch some public interest.

Write articles for your local newspaper. Hopefully, if you’re in the writing mood, you can submit an article to a newspaper. This is a great way to show off your expertise while getting your company a free plug. Can you share repair tips or recipes? Do you have interesting ideas on how to save money or use products more wisely? Offering useful advice to readers is bound to garner greater interest in your brand.

Host an event. There’s nothing like a good party to get people interested in what you’re doing. WikiHow.com suggests that you have a cookout and serve free food and drinks. Yes, it’s the winter time, so an indoor event may work best. Here’s an idea: throw a SuperBowl party at your place of business this Sunday! You’d be hard pressed to find people not interested in that!

Volunteer. Of the many lists of tips that we’ve come across, there are very few that do not suggest the volunteering of your time. Giving back to your community is always a win-win situation. It offers assistance to people who are most likely to truly need it and it shines a great light upon your brand. It certainly pays to get to know the people in your community as well.

Advertise. Well this tip is obvious, isn’t it? But how can you do so on a budget? As they often say, there’s nothing better than word-of-mouth promotion. And, at Synergy Marketing, we’ve learned that handing out branded promotional products is one of the best ways to generate such advertising.
