7 More Marketing Tips For Better Business

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 27.09.13 by John Meloche

Laptop MegaphoneIn yesterday’s blog, we took a look at an article by Alyssa Gregory on About.com. In it, she lists a number of tips that business owners can use to better market their small businesses. These tips can come in handy at any point in the year. But as we approach the fourth quarter, they become especially useful. The holiday season is coming up quicker than you think. In today’s blog, we’ll look at a few more tips that can help.

Create a digital version of your brochure for your website. Online marketing is incredibly important. By now, it should go without saying that a strong online presence will work wonders for your business. Shoppers prefer to browse online before visiting physical locations. So be sure that your website clearly communicates what your business is all about.

Explore a website redesign. Is your website strong enough to truly highlight your brand? Perhaps, a website revamp is necessary. In some cases, business owners may want to sell their products and services directly from their websites. In others, specific calls to actions are necessary. In other words, if you want to have customers visit your store, your website should be enticing enough to make them want to do so.

Write an elevator pitch. How long do you spend in an elevator each day? Each trip is usually no more than a minute or so, right? Can you promote your business effectively in as short a time? You’re bound to meet new people on a daily basis. Come up with a quick pitch that will dazzle those you meet but may not have a lot of time to converse with. Then be sure to have them leave with your promo gift!

Register for a conference. Taking your promo gifts to conferences will really help expand your reach. Conferences are great places to mix, mingle and meet other people in your industry. The impact you make should help for your business to grow as new relationships will be developed. Make good use of your elevator pitch and promo gifts and you’ll notice a spike in the attention your company gets.

Introduce yourself to other local business owners. It’s time for you to make nice! It’s important to be a noticeable member of your community. As long as they are not your competitors, it only makes sense to get to know other business owners nearby. A bartering system may result which will only serve to introduce your brand to people who you may otherwise never meet.

Plan a local business workshop. Showing off isn’t always a bad thing. Discuss your expertise during a workshop and help community members to learn more about what you do. The time you put in to teaching others will effectively work as a commercial for your brand. It will also help to further build the relationships you have with people in your community.

Get creative with promotional products and give them away at the next networking event you attend. Yes, we mentioned this in yesterday’s blog. And clearly, it is only natural for us to do so. But as Gregory herself points out, promotional products work great at networking events. As we pointed out yesterday, promo gifts have greater impacts than business cards.
