4 Reasons Why Your Business Should be Blogging

Posted in Small Business Advertising, Social Media, Synergy Suggestions on 14.06.16 by John Meloche

A very underrated and otherwise unrecognized marketing tool, blogs can have a profound impact on your businesses’ success. “How can a blog really help my business?” That’s a good question to ask, and this question is filled with a copious amount of answers. However let’s concentrate on a couple of core reasons why blogs can translate into sales.

  1. Blogs enable you to generate lots of new traffic to your site. They help you improve your SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Let’s go through the process. Your website contains a couple of pages all containing information relevant to your company. When your company operates a blog you’re essentially creating more pages for customers to see and thus increasing your chances of your website showing up in search engines. This of course allows you to drive traffic to your website just through organic searches.
  2. Blogs serve as a great and inexpensive way of generating leads. This is also connected to the proceedings of SEO but blogs have been proven to be extremely efficient lead generators. On hubspot.com, Olivia Allen discussed the strength of lead generation through blogs, pointing out that “B2B marketers that use blogs receive 67% more leads than those that do not.” This is a very compelling statistic that shows the obvious opportunities that exist within business blogging.
  3. Blogs can strengthen your social media presence. A lot of your current and potential customers will likely be on social media so it makes sense to communicate to them over said medium. That being said you need to make sure you can actually provide useful information to your current and potential clientele. This is exactly where blogs come in. Constant blogging allows you to be able to consistently provide useful information about your company on social media. Of course this all correlates to lead generation as this information can stimulate consumer interest and in turn provide more leads to your website. Joe Fylan from elegantthemes.com stated that “Each tweet of a blog post is an action that has the potential to grow the number of leads heading to your site,” revealing the increased effectiveness of social media marketing through blogging.
  4. Finally Blogs can aid/quicken the sales process. Blogs serve as the perfect opportunity to answer those specific questions inquired by customers or just generally provide more in-depth explanations of your product, company, etc. They’re just a great means of presenting additional relevant information about a certain thing in your business. Customers can refer to these blogs and be enlightened by the additional information. All together blogging help move the sales process along more swiftly, so much so that it’s been proven to increase your companies’ conversion rate. As proven by a statistic from Hubspot, revealing that “92% of companies who blog multiple times per day have acquired a customer from their blog.”

Now these are just a few of many reasons why blogs can help improve your businesses’ performance. They’re an extremely inexpensive marketing tool that’s sure to boast an impressive return on your investment.

4 Steps To Growing Your Company’s Online Reach

Posted in Small Business Advertising, Social Media on 14.07.15 by John Meloche

Business man hand reaching out from screen to shake with white backgroundIn yesterday’s blog, we discussed the importance of blogging and just how much it can help to grow your company’s online presence. As we mentioned, it has certainly worked for us. Not only do we post a new blog to our website each business day of the week, but we also add links to those blog posts to our Facebook and Twitter profiles. This has helped us to grow our likes and followers respectively. But what else can help you to grow your company’s reach online?

Here are four steps to growing your company’s online reach:

1. Keep active on your social media accounts. Hopefully, this tip isn’t completely necessary. Having social media profiles allows you to interact with members of your customer base so that they can gain a greater understanding about what you have to offer. The key, as always, is to be social as opposed to being a blatant advertiser. On Chron.com, Gemma Craig describes the importance of being active on social media.

“Social media networks allow individuals to follow your company or event and make it easy for you to keep your followers updated,” she writes, “You can integrate your social media accounts into your website or blog via widgets and links, increasing its exposure, and can use social media to post specials just for your followers, encouraging new visitors to join your pages.” As mentioned, this has significantly helped us to grow our reach online.

2. Write blogs for other websites. Blogging for your own website is a great idea. As we pointed out yesterday, it helps for search engines to better pick up your website. Thus, you increase website traffic. However, it’s also a good idea to spread your expertise by becoming a guest author on other websites. Even if you’re not writing blogs yourself, get your blog writers to contribute blogs to sites that will add links to your own.

If it’s one thing that all blogs want, it is more content, insists Neil Patel on QuickSprout.com. “If you write guest blog posts on other blogs, not only will you get traffic and more branding, but you’ll also get links, which will help your SEO efforts,” he writes, “If you are looking to find places to guest blog, you can check out My Blog Guest, or you can approach popular blogs in your field one by one.”

3. Partner up with other businesses. This is certainly a tip that we’ve doled out before. But, in this case, we mean to say that you should try to swap advertising space on your website for space on other company websites. That way, you’ll be able to generate a lot more traffic from people who may otherwise never have heard of your business. Create a “links” page on your website to offer this service to would-be partners.

“Some advertisement companies offer special promotions that allow you to advertise your company or event online for a certain duration free of charge, at which point you can pay to continue advertising if it has proved useful to your campaign,” reveals Craig, “Alternatively, you can find websites that have a readership relevant to your company or event and pay for advertisement space.”

4. Be a trusted source of information. Part of engaging an audience online is being able to provide information that is relevant to your business. “From forums to question and answer sites, people need help,” informs Patel, “If you can answer questions related to the products and services your company provides, you can get new customers. You can find these potential customers on forums and on question and answer sites like Yahoo Answers.”

The Importance Of Blogging To Build Brand Awareness

Posted in Small Business Advertising, Social Media on 13.07.15 by John Meloche

Blog concept.Isolated on white background.3d rendered. At the beginning of last week, we did a bit of blogging about the importance of using social media to grow your brand’s image. These days, it should be a no-brainer for business owners to focus on building the online presence of their companies in order to help them grow. And, in case you haven’t noticed by our daily blog posts, blogging is a big part of helping to strengthen our own company’s online presence. Do you have a blog on your website?

Perhaps, you’re still curious about exactly what a blog is. “On a blog, you post information relevant to your business or event and draw in traffic using keyword-targeted posts,” explains Gemma Craig on Chron.com, “Posting promotional specials on the blog, such as discounts or other incentives, prompts readers to share the links, giving you exposure. Many free blogging services are available online, including Tumblr, Blogger and WordPress.”

At Synergy Marketing, we love blogging about a variety of topics. However, the general theme of our blog posts focus on business promotion. Considering that we offer Canadian business owners top-of-the-line promotional products, it makes sense for our blog to cater to the marketing needs of our client base. With that said, blogging does a whole lot more than simply increase website visits.

By adding a regularly-updated blog to your website, you encourage others to engage in conversations with and about your business. This is where social media play such a big role. Each and every business day of the week, we post a link to our new blog on our Facebook and Twitter profiles. The intent is to elicit responses from our friends and followers. By drumming up conversation, we inevitably stir up more interest in our brand.

The numbers don’t lie. When we first started up our profiles on both platforms, we struggled to get any traction. Our regular blogging, however, has pushed both profiles north of the 100 mark in terms of likes and friends. While that may not be a huge number to most, it shows that blogging certainly has its benefits. And, in today’s world, getting noticed online is a huge part of growing a company’s success.

On QuickSprout.com, Neil Patel writes that it’s not enough to simply post your own blogs. To increase the popularity of your website, you should also comment on the blogs posted by others. “For this to work, you have to leave comments on blogs that are related to your website, and the comments you leave have to be insightful,” he explains, noting that such a tactic will encourage more visits to your own company website.

Craig agrees that contributing to other online posts can go a long way. “Post in forums relevant to your company or event with a link to your website or blog in your account’s signature space,” she recommends, “By posting relevant, helpful information on the forum, you form a network of like-minded individuals who are interested in your service and draw traffic to your website due to the link exposure.”

If you’re a busy business owner – and which business owner isn’t? – you likely don’t have a whole lot of time to be blogging yourself. We recommend that you look into getting blogging services that can help to present your company in a very favourable light. Let a writing expert do the work for you so that you can enjoy the benefits that come with today’s most popular way to grow your online presence. It works for us!

4 More Ways To Boost Your Blog’s Popularity

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 05.05.15 by John Meloche

Depositphotos_7162436_xsIn yesterday’s blog, we introduced the topic of building buzz for your company blog. This is something that we’ve been practicing for years. But we have to admit that we started promoting our blog a lot later than we started blogging. As a result, our blog wasn’t as popular, when it started, as it is now. Of course, there’s always a natural progression to how things pick up steam. But it’s important to remember that, in today’s digital world, a company’s online presence is everything.

As a result, it’s important to not just regularly add content to your website, but to promote the fact that the new content has been added. Yesterday, we pointed out that Synergy Marketing updates its Twitter and Facebook accounts each and every time a new blog is posted on our website. This has helped us to not only increase our awareness on social media, but it has helped for our blog to secure more readers as well.

Most importantly, the more people visit who our website because of our blog, the more often we are able to convert our website visitors into customers. Naturally, we do a lot of blogging about the benefits of using promotional products to advertise your brand. But our blog also incorporates a wide range of topics in order to keep things fresh and interesting. Variety is key. But, back to the point, promotion is imperative!

Being a promotional product company, you might expect us to say that. But you don’t have to take our word for it. On her website, social media strategist, Rebekah Radice offers up some sound solutions for how you can increase the popularity of your blog. Admittedly, she provides tips that we ourselves should take a look into as well. So join us in discovering new ways to build a buzz for your blog!

Here are four more ways to boost your blog’s popularity:

1. Go with Google+. Considering that Google is most commonly used as a search engine on the internet, it pays to use its services to make your company more easily accessible. “Not only is Google+ an excellent place to post your original content for increased SEO, it is also an important network to build relationships with those eager to +1 and share your content,” says Radice, “The possibility of ‘going viral’ is very real when Google+ is used properly.”

2. Pick up on Pinterest. “Take advantage of this unique magazine-style visual powerhouse to share your content with an image optimized for maximum pinning,” insists Radice, noting that there are a number of ways to create a “perfect” Pinterest image. To get more pins in your image, she advises that you do not include a human face, use a plain white background, include the colour red in it somewhere and try to go with a portrait style photo.

3. Link it to LinkedIn. This social media profile is extremely popular amongst entrepreneurs. According to Radice, “you can share your latest article to your LinkedIn profile, plus any group you manage or belong to that allows you to share your own content. Many groups on LinkedIn, Facebook and Google_ frown on ‘link dropping’ so make sure to read the group rules before making that mistake.”

4. Utilize YouTube. If it’s one thing that people seem to love using the internet for, it’s watching videos. Can you somehow turn your blog post into a video? Radice notes that blogs that contain lists of tips – and, as you can tell, we have many ourselves! – are perfect for video blogs. “Take one tip and share it in a quick 15-30 second video,” she suggests, “Then direct viewers to your site for further information on the subject.”

2 Big Ways To Build A Buzz For Your Blog

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 04.05.15 by John Meloche

Depositphotos_6501329_xsAt Synergy Marketing, we have been maintaining a daily blog for quite some time now. In fact, it’s been nearly six years since we posted our first blog and we’ve been keeping up with our commitment to add a new blog each and every business day of the week since then. Considering that, we’d argue that our company website contains the most informative content of any promotional products business out there!

And we’re quite proud of that feat. The Synergy Marketing Blog is chock-full of incredibly useful information for business owners of all types. Our blogs have ranged from championing the use of promotional products to finding creative ways to utilize the internet. It’s never short on helpful advice, but we even throw some current event pieces in there now and again. However, there is one thing about our blog that has truly helped us to grow our online reach.

And that would be the way that we promote it. To be honest, we learned this the hard way. For the first couple of years, we didn’t utilize our social media profiles as much as we do now and our blog wasn’t so popular. You see, posting content to your website is a great idea. But it’s important to get the word out about it. After all, who’s going to read your blog if no one knows that it exists? As a result, we make sure to stay on top of promoting each and every blog post.

“Writing your latest blog post and hitting publish is just the beginning when it comes to growing your subscription base,” writes social media strategist, Rebekah Radice, “If you truly want to gain the attention of your target audience (and Google), then you will need to spend time promoting your content in multiple locations.” On her website, she lists a number of tips to help business owners to promote their latest blog posts.

Here are two big ways to build a buzz for your blog:

1. Take to tweeting. Every blog post on the Synergy Marketing Blog receives no less than two tweets on our official Twitter account. Firstly, we have it set up so that there is always an automatic notification on Twitter that our new blog post has been made live. Secondly, our Twitter account administrator will then go about engaging our audience via a question that our blog post answers. Of course, a link to the blog is always in each tweet.

Interestingly, it seems as if we were taking Radice’s advice without even realizing it. “Post your article to Twitter and then schedule several additional tweets to go out over the course of the week,” she recommends, “To make the most of this strategy, put a new spin on these tweets by changing up your original article title. This allows you to A/B test which verbiage performs and which falls flat.”

2. Follow through on Facebook. What we do on Twitter, we also do on Facebook. This popilar social media site generally encourages discussion by allowing friends and fans to post comments of their own underneath your posts. As well, the posts also encourage “likes”, which help you to determine how much people are interested in what you’ve posted. Each day, we post a link to our blog on our Facebook page along with an audience-engaging question that the blog answers.

It looks like we follow yet another tip that Radice provides! “Make it a habit of posting your article to Facebook with a newly created graphic and a quick and simple status update relevant to your blog on your Facebook page,” she advises, “Don’t forget to provide a link to discussed articles. At the same time, place eye-catching advertisements on Facebook to further promote your new articles.”

Be sure to check back for tomorrow’s blog as we unveil a few more great ways to build buzz for your blog. And don’t forget to call us directly at 1-877-748-9884 to order your promotional products!

6 Promo Strategies That Won’t Blow Your Budget

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 13.02.15 by John Meloche

Depositphotos_22783106_xsOne of the reasons that our promotional products have been so effective for so many business owners across Canada is that they are so wallet-friendly. Sure, it’s incredibly effective to use a promo gift over a business card for its sheer usability. Promo products are not quickly thrown out. Because they are so handy and useful, they have staying power. When your marketing material is kept in the possession of its recipients, it has the ability to push your brand for a long time.

But back to how cost-effective promo gifts are, it’s important to note that not all small business owners have the luxury of working with large marketing budgets. Making use of what limited marketing funds you may have is a huge part of keeping your company successful. On Wordstream.com, Megan Marrs gives small business owners the assurance that “there are plenty of marketing tactics you can make use of that won’t blow your budget.” Here are six.

1. Publish great content. This is a key component in popularizing your website. The more interesting content added to your site, the better your chances are of attracting new visitors. To get picked up in search engines more often, you’ll want to post a lot of content that is relevant to your industry. This is why we add a new post to the Synergy Marketing Blog each business day of the week. We also post links to each blog on our Facebook and Twitter profiles!

2. Develop a customer referral program. There’s arguably no better way to grow your company’s popularity than to have your existing happy customers refer it to their friends and family members. Word-of-mouth promotion simply can’t be beat. “Offer existing customers a free product, free month of service, or some other reward for referring new customers,” suggests Marrs, “Remember, word-of-mouth is powerful stuff, so friends telling friends about your business is incredibly valuable.”

3. Industry partnerships. In yesterday’s blog, we highlighted the importance of teaming up with other business owners to help along in the referral process. Marrs agrees that this is a worthwile promotional tactic. “Partnering with another business means twice as much notice,” she writes, “If you’re partnering with an industry-relevant business, you’re getting introduced to a whole new audience related to your niche. People pay big money for that kind of access!”

4. Email marketing. It’s important to stay connected. Develop an emailing list by requesting addresses from the customers who visit your store. Be sure to make your newsletters personalized pieces of communication and not just spam-like direct advertising messages. “Email marketing is a great way to get new visitors engaged with your business, as well as maintain relationships with your existing customers,” says Marrs.

5. Online contests. As we’ve mentioned many times, people love to get things for free. And contests have always had the ability to get people excited over the idea of winning something great. You may be thinking that running a contest may be more costly that you would like. But, as Marrs tell us, “the number of participants and new potential leads you get will be well worth the price…You don’t technically need a super expensive prize to get participants. Even a couple high-end water bottles or fancy backpacks might be enough of a draw for some users.”

6. Give away balloons at local events. “Get a few hundred custom balloons printed with your business name, rent a helium tank, and watch the smiles roll in,” she continues, underlining our belief that free giveaways make great impressions. The way we see it, however, you can do a lot better than balloons! Give Synergy Marketing at a call at 1-877-748-9884 to discuss the many different promo gifts we have that can help you to boost business without blowing your budget!

5 Ideal Ideas For Growing Your Small Business

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 03.02.15 by John Meloche

Growing green businessIn yesterday’s blog, we commented upon some of the more interesting Super Bowl commercials that were broadcast during the big game this year. This is a topic that we tackle (pun intended) every year as the Super Bowl broadcast is known as the biggest annual advertising opportunity for a wide variety of companies. Clearly, however, we’re talking about some pretty big brands. Considering that 30-second slots command millions of dollars from advertisers, they’re not exactly made for the small business owner.

Of course, there are many other ways for small business owners to promote their brands. In fact, we often argue that small business owners have certain advantages over their big-named counterparts. As a small business owner, you have the opportunity to interact with your customers on a more personal basis. And it’s your personal interactions with them that help to grow your company’s reputation and secure their loyalty.

So what are those ways that small business owners can grow their relationships? On EvolutionCP.com, Jeffrey Kadlic writes that there are a number of methods that actually cost entrepreneurs nothing to implement. Whether you’re looking to jumpstart a new business or grow the one you’ve been running for years, his ideas are certainly worth considering. Here are five of his best.

1. Write a press release. No one knows your business better than you do. There are certainly worse ways to communicate your brand’s mission statement than to email your subscribers on a regular basis. “Believe it or not, press releases are still useful in generating buzz around your business, and can be a cost-effective way of informing consumers and other businesses on what makes your company stand out in its field,” writes Kadlic.

2. Participate in community outreach. There is arguably no better way to encourage the members of your community to support your brand than to give them your personal time and generosity. In some cases, sponsorships can help to promote your business for many months on end. As explained by Kadlic, “sponsoring a little league football or baseball team, volunteering at charity events, or openly contributing to a non-profit not only shows you’re a business who’s engaged locally, it adds to your overall value as an organization.”

3. Don’t forget to network. Even in this social media-crazed world, there are few things more effective than getting out there to meet people face-to-face. Especially when those people live in the area where your business is located, taking the time to popularize yourself among others can go a really long way. “Spend some time getting to know others in your area of influence, even if they are competitors,” advises Kadlic.

4. Keep a regularly updated blog. Talk about taking our own advice, right? Writing daily blogs has worked wonders for growing our reach online. They also help to showcase our extreme knowledge of our industry. As Kadlic affirms, “You’re likely an authority on the items and services you sell, so share your expertise with the public by writing a weekly blog post detailing the finer points of your small business. You can even expand your reach by writing on subjects you’re passionate about but don’t directly relate to your company.”

5. Provide discounts and giveaways. If there’s anything that customers love more than getting items at discounted rates, it’s getting them for free! “There are fewer ways to generate interest from consumers who are still on the fence about purchasing your products or service than offering considerable discounts or giveaways on your website and social media pages,” informs Kadlic. We couldn’t agree more!

This is what makes promotional products so effective. Learn more about the great promo gifts offered by Synergy Marketing by calling us at 1-877-748-9884 today!

5 Steps To Advertising Your Brand Through Writing

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 28.10.14 by John Meloche

Depositphotos_6501329_xsIt doesn’t matter how many fans you have of your business, it’s not likely that anyone is going to care about it more than you. You started it from the ground up. You worked tirelessly to make it what it is today. So there’s no one who knows more about it than you. Who better to write about your business than you? What’s that? You’re not a writer? Well, there are ways to work around that which we’ll get to shortly.

However, the point must be made that your business should be written about. Blogs are all the rage these days. That’s why, for the past few years, we have been maintaining our very own Synergy Marketing Blog. Our daily posts provide loads of information about how to promote your business and often highlight the many benefits of using promotional products to advertise your company.

Writing is a great outlet and also an excellent way to personally connect with members of your client base. On MyCreativeArtsConsulting.com, Nancy Babcock writes that there are some specific steps that you should take when writing about your business. Taking these steps will help to ensure that the company you created is recognized by a much wider audience. Here are five steps to take you in the right direction.

1. Create A Schedule (And Stick To It). At Synergy Marketing, we enjoy posting a new blog each business day of the week. We also post links to our blogs on our Facebook and Twitter profiles daily. This has work wonders in attracting new friends and followers. Babcock suggests that you pick a schedule for your articles so that you’re able to stay consistent and stick to deadlines that keep your writing on track.

2. Choose a Niche Writing Area. Blogs are excellent ways to display your expertise. But they also work best when they can provide services to their readers. This is why, at Synergy Marketing, we enjoy posting “advice columns” that list several tips on how to better promote small businesses. Our blogs speak to a specific audience and remain in keeping with our business model to help Canadian businesses advertise themselves with promo gifts.

3. Create A Content Theme. “Having the theme helps tremendously when you are researching your article,” writes Babcock, “Make the theme as wide open as possible.” Various themes that we have covered in recent weeks include promotional ideas for the fall, back-to-school advertising ideas and concepts for promoting your brand around Halloween. Having broad themes so that you can build your articles around them is always helpful, notes Babcock.

4. Create A Comfortable Writing Style. Generally, we like to keep it light, here at Synergy Marketing. Our blogs are written in a very friendly voice, almost as if we were having a conversation with our readers. We feel that this warm, yet informative approach works for our brand. Pick a style that works for you. Babcock admits that she takes a lot of time to do research before composing articles. Other writers whip up posts within minutes. Find your style.

5. Hire A Writer. If all else fails, and writing is simply not for you, there are professional bloggers out there than can do the job for you. You may be surprised to find out just how affordable they are and how much their blogs can help to bring more awareness about your brand. We recommend the Bloggers For Hire at MeloTel. They’ve done a wonderful job for us. And they’ll do one for you too!

5 Marvellous Ways To Market Your Brand On Twitter

Posted in Social Media on 26.09.14 by John Meloche

Depositphotos_35067017_xsWe write blogs. We tweet. And we post on Facebook. Admittedly, these are the main social media actions that we practice on a daily basis, here at Synergy Marketing. Far from social media specialists, we do know a thing or two about how to, at least, stay active and draw greater attention to our brand by utilizing the above mentioned tendencies. As a result, we have been gaining more likes and followers in recent weeks.

The key, we suppose, is to keep at it. The more interactions we have with others on social media – which is the whole point, isn’t it? – the more interest we seem to attain. With that said, we’d like to thank those who follow us on Twitter and welcome those who have just recently decided to do so. We’re happy to remind all Twitter users that whoever follows us will be followed back! That’s just one way we use this medium to grow our fan base.

On CIO.com, Jennifer Lonoff Schiff provides a number of other ways to use Twitter to your advantage. As a business owner, it’s important to know just how beneficial this popular social networking tool is in helping your business to grow. Schiff writes that there are hundreds of millions of Twitter users worldwide. And “that makes Twitter a potentially powerful marketing tool — if you know how to use it.” Here are five of her Twitter marketing tips.

1. Optimize your Twitter bio. It’s important to set up your profile in a professional manner so that it has the ability to shine a favourable light on your brand before you’ve even sent out your first tweet. It should clearly and quickly tell people who you are and include a link to your company website, informs Schiff. Ours reads: “We supply promotional merchandise to some of the largest corporations in North America. Call us at 1-877-748-9884.”

2. Get colleagues involved. There’s no one like your friends to get your Twitter game rolling. Make sure that your friends, co-workers and colleagues are all following your Twitter account. Encourage them to send out tweets that incorporate your Twitter handle, asking others to follow you as well. The more that people are immediately engaging with your brand, the more attention you’ll receive when your important tweets start going out.

3. Tweet regularly. Remember that it’s all about being social on social media. Having an account and not using it is no different than ignoring someone who is trying to talk to you. If you don’t tweet on a regular basis, people end up forgetting about you, reveals Schiff. Posting, at least, on a daily basis will keep you at the top of people’s minds. At Synergy Marketing, we make sure to post a link to our blogs every business day of the week on both Facebook and Twitter.

4. Don’t be afraid to ask for some Twitter love. “Ask followers to retweet, mention or favourite your tweets — or to share content with a fresh tweet,” suggests Schiff. What we’ve started to do, here at Synergy Marketing, is thank our recent followers through our tweets. With social media, the more you mention others, the more inclined they will be to mention you. And that means more people will get to know who you are.

5. Retweet and favourite other tweets. Of course, to get love, you have to give love. That means that your Twitter account shouldn’t be used to strictly tweet information about your brand. Retweet your favourite comments made by those that you follow and be sure to “favourite” them as well. It’s as simple as clicking a little star icon. The more active you are on Twitter, the more you get noticed. It’s that simple!

5 More Free Online Marketing Ideas

Posted in Social Media, Synergy Suggestions on 19.09.14 by John Meloche

Keyboard with Online Marketing Button.Well, it has certainly turned into “free online promotion” week on the Synergy Marketing Blog! We certainly hope that you’ve enjoyed all of this week’s blogs, thus far. We can honestly say that, with the exception of using promotional gifts to boost your business, free online advertising is the most “no-brainer” marketing strategy any business owner can employ. Apparently, you just can’t beat the internet. And again, you can’t beat free!

On BusinessKnowHow.com, Karl Walinskas writes: “They say the best things in life are free: love, friendship, intellect, but hardly in life does free stuff give any true worth, as in products and services. Well, in the web based arena, that is not consistently the truth, specifically in web page marketing. It’s because what is free of charge to you is providing value to the person giving it away.”

It’s important to remember that your customers will always have options. And with the internet opening the world up to so many more of those options, it’s incumbent upon you to not get lost in the sauce. This week’s blogs have been dedicated to helping you make your mark online so that your business continually gets noticed. In today’s blog, we’ll review five more free online marketing ideas.

1. Directory listings. Walinskas reveals that there are many websites out there that allow you to list your business website on them for free. And there is a good reason why. “Their financial models are typically based upon the up-sell,” he explains, noting that you will always get the basics free of charge.
