What Are The Best Promo Gifts To Fill Swag Bags With?

Posted in Small Business Advertising, Synergy Suggestions on 06.06.16 by John Meloche

G474GR-1024x1269Last week, the Synergy Marketing Blog touched upon the topic of swag bags and highlighted how important they’ll be this summer. Whether you plan on hosting an industry event yourself or plan on being the sponsor at a conference, you’ll certainly want to make your presence felt through the many swag bags that will be given away. As we pointed out last week, some promo gifts seem to have bigger impacts than others.

So what are some of the best gifts to give out in your swag bags? We’d have to list USB chargers among the top choices. At Synergy Marketing, we offer both USB car chargers and USB power banks. In today’s digitally-obsessed world, you’ll be hard pressed to find an individual who couldn’t make use of a charger for their mobile devices. As Rachel Sprung points out on HubSpot.com, people are always on their phones!

“Give out mobile chargers, and every attendee will love you for it,” she insists, “Oh, and they’ll probably learn your name, too. Not only will they be pleasantly surprised when they see such practical and thoughtful swag, but having their phones charged will mean they’ll be able to engage even more throughout the conference, which is great for the conference coordinator. Finally, they’ll likely use that mobile charger beyond the last day of the conference.”

Are seasonal items good items for swag bags? They sure are! Sometimes, it can be easy to get caught up in giving out gifts that will be used all-year-round. However, this summer, you’ll truly stand out if you offer gifts in your swag bags that can help to bring more enjoyment to the current season. At Synergy Marketing, we offer Flying Saucers (better known as “Frisbees”) which are perfect summer gifts.

“One way to make your swag bag stand out is by filling it with fun, seasonal items,” says Sprung, “Most companies don’t give out seasonal items because they’re looking for gifts that can be used year-round, but that fact alone makes these items even more special. If you’re hosting a summer conference or an event in a beach location, for example, then think about giving out items like beach towels, flip flops, and frisbees.”

img-foldable-water-bottle-logo-1024x1269How effective are water bottles as swag bag gifts? They’re among the best! In fact, reusable water bottles fall into both the seasonal and all-year-round categories. Not to mention, these gifts say a lot about your commitment to fostering a healthier environment. At Synergy Marketing, we have a great variety of water bottles to choose from in the Drinkware section of our catalogue.

“It may sound like a simple idea, but reusable water bottles are some of the most valued swag items given out at conferences,” reports Sprung, “First of all, they’re convenient — and a lot easier to handle than open cups of water that can easily be spilled everywhere. They also encourage attendees to stay hydrated, which can be hard for people to remember when they’re rushing from event to event. Finally, reusable water bottles pair well with the recent emphasis on conferences going green.”

To place your order for the promo gift of your choice, call Synergy Marketing at 1-877-748-9884 between 9am and 5pm EST or email us at info@gosynergygo.com! You can also sign up for our Insider E-Flyer Program HERE!

What Makes Water Bottles Such Great Promotional Gifts?

Posted in Promotional Products on 22.04.16 by John Meloche

img-terrain-water-bottle-logo-1024x1269The weather is warming up in most of Canada. (Sorry Newfoundland. We know you got hit with a snowstorm this week!) When Canadians get the opportunity to enjoy the warm weather, it presents a really exciting time of year. Naturally, people become more active, leaving their homes more often to enjoy the sunshine that comes along with the season. As a business owner, you can definitely take advantage of this.

How can business owners take advantage of the warmer weather? Simply put, it’s just smart to offer customers gifts to help them enjoy the warm weather more. And with spring now here and summer on the way, there are going to be many more ways in which people find good times. Going to the beach is just one of many examples. And no matter what your customers decide to do, you can offer them promotional gifts to help add to their summer festivities.

What promo gifts work best during the summer? Our Flying Saucers are perfect go-to gifts for the summer. Barbeque, picnics or any other outdoor events – even simple trips to the park – can make use of a Frisbee. For many years, Synergy Marketing’s customers have been attaching their business names and logos to our Flying Saucers and have made bigger names for themselves throughout the summers. Our amazing line of water bottles, however, is also incredibly popular!

What makes water bottles such great promotional gifts? Well, let’s first consider the fact that it’s very important to stay hydrated. Naturally, we all sweat more during the hotter days of the year. The weather encourages people to come out of their homes more often. And drinking water is absolutely necessary for beating the heat, no matter how much we enjoy warmer temperatures. Not to mention, water bottles are among the most practical and useful gifts you can give out.

What makes Synergy Marketing’s water bottles so special? As always, we offer nothing but top-of-the-line quality when it comes to our promotional products. And our water bottles are no exception! The Terrain Water Bottle is especially noted for its durability. This Stainless Steel single water bottle carries 750ml or 25 ounces of fluid and comes with a handy drink spout. They go for only $15.95 a piece.

img-foldable-water-bottle-logo-1024x1269The Foldable Water Bottle represents a more cost-effective option. At just $5.95 each, these water bottles make excellent summertime promo gifts. They carry 16 ounces of fluid and are very lightweight. The fact that you can fold these water bottles up after use makes storage very easy. They also come with leak resistant push/pull lids and carabiner hooks and are completely BPA free!

What other benefits do our water bottles provide? Keeping a reusable water bottle on hand, instead of buying disposable bottles of water is great for the environment. It reduces the amount of fossil fuels and toxins released into the air during the production of plastic water bottles. In addition, you’ll end up saving tons of money by refilling your water bottles with your own tap water (which you can filter) instead of regularly buying water from the store.

To place your order for the water bottle of your choice, call Synergy Marketing at 1-877-748-9884 between 9am and 5pm EST or email us at info@gosynergygo.com! You can also sign up for our Insider E-Flyer Program HERE!

6 Great Summer-Themed Marketing Ideas

Posted in Promotional Products, Small Business Advertising, Synergy Suggestions on 04.08.15 by John Meloche

img-flying-saucer-logo-v1-1024x1269There goes another long weekend! Look on the bright side Canada. At least, you have a short work week! In yesterday’s blog, we pointed out that long weekends are often enjoyed because people are given an extra day off of work. However, most business owners look at long weekends as greater opportunities to welcome new customers into their stores. Many retailers keep their doors open during holidays in an effort to meet the needs of those in celebratory moods.

The entire summer, it can be argued, is viewed as one big holiday by many people. Those who are members of the younger generation especially see summer as vacation time. After all, school is out! And since they won’t be back to school for another month, it’s a wise choice for store owners to find ways to welcome them into their stores all summer long. Are you still looking for some summer-themed marketing ideas?

Here are six great ones:

1. Give out summer discounts. On Intuit.com, Rachel Hartman writes that you should reward those who help you to advertise your business on social media. For example, if someone posts a picture of your store or one of its products on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using a hashtag that you’ve created, you should offer a special discount. Run this promotion all throughout the summer and see if it doesn’t generate some extra buzz.

2. Find ways to cool people down. Although most people love the heat that comes along with summer, many look for ways to “beat the heat” all summer long. On ThoughtReach.com, Brian Morris recommends that you find ways to help people out with that. “Venture into busy shopping districts armed with a backpack/spray nozzle water mister, and offer to cool off passersby,” he suggests, “Make sure your outfit is branded, and you have brochures or flyers to distribute.”

3. Throw a super summer event. A number of our recent blogs have championed the idea of throwing a party in your company’s name. Is there anything more fun than a day at the beach, a picnic or a barbeque during the summertime? Hartman recommends that you “drive up sales by having an event at the beach or the lake or even in your own parking lot…spread news of the upcoming event by word of mouth, social media (and) email invitations.”

4. Hang a banner at “hot spots”. One way to really take advantage of your event is to display a banner with your company’s name and logo on it. Morris writes that you should hang it up at as many “hot spots” as you can. “Identify summer hot spots in your town: beaches, pools, attractions, high-traffic areas, etc., then strategically place large-format vinyl banners well within view,” he advises, “You’ll be able to maximize your exposure with a minimal investment.”

5. Go where the people are. Hartman agrees that you need to take advantage of your city’s hot spots. She writes that local festivals, outdoor shopping areas, beaches and recreational areas are all locations where you should be, handing out materials that promote your business. One of her recommendations is to hand out water bottles that feature your company’s logo. We definitely agree with that!

6. Give away seasonal items. As mentioned, Hartman champions the idea of giving away items that will be greatly appreciated during the summer months. In yesterday’s blog, we introduced Synergy Marketing’s new Terrain Water Bottle, but we also have a number of other water bottles to choose from. As well, we have great promotional Flying Saucers which are excellent for outdoor play all summer long!

5 Things To Consider When Handing Out Your Promo Gifts

Posted in Promotional Products on 29.09.14 by John Meloche

Depositphotos_7759171_xsSo what’s the deal with promotional products anyway? Do they truly work? These are questions that members of our sales staff hear fairly often from our nation’s entrepreneurs. Naturally, Canadian business owners are busy. And they often have questions about the validity of promo gifts and how beneficial they truly are in increasing sales and gaining more customers. The answer, we feel, lies in how promo gifts are used.

Of course, at Synergy Marketing, we know all about the power of promo gifts. For decades, they have been excellent ways to boost revenue and gain referrals, among other benefits. But, as mentioned, their success is most often found in the clever ways in which they used. Sure, you could use them to simply hand out to any random person that visits your store. But what is the strategy in that approach?

The key is to come up with a sound marketing plan that promotional gifts will help to make successful. That way, your gifts will be that much more effective. On TheMarketingGuy.com, Mark Blaney writes that there are number of things to consider when handing out your promotional items. Over the next two blogs, we’d like to discuss his list of ideas and add our perspectives on each point. Here are the first five.

1. The frequency clients purchase your product or service. As mentioned, you don’t necessarily want to hand out every promo gift that you have to offer to every customer you meet. Some gifts are best kept for those that frequent your business most often. The type of gifts you give new customers should be different. In other words, you want to reward your most loyal customers with high-end gifts but encourage new ones to keep coming back with practical items.

2. The season of the year. Considering that we have just begun our fall season, this is an especially important consideration. Obviously, our winter toques are bound to have greater impacts on your customers than our Frisbees will at this time. Clearly, some promo gifts are simply better for certain seasons than others. In fact, now that we are entering our fourth quarter of the year, you may want to consider picking up some 2015 promotional calendars!

3. Will it be left at the office or taken home? One of the best aspects of promo gifts is the way that many of them are able to travel with their recipients. Water bottles and key chains, for example, are excellent “take them with you” gifts. Mouse pads, on the other hand, are obviously meant for stationary locations. That doesn’t necessarily make one gift better than the other. It simply means that you must consider the types of clients you give your gifts to in order to have the biggest possible impacts.

4. Is it a novelty item or useful item of value? On the Synergy Marketing Blog, we’ve often discussed “usefulness” as a primary reason that promo gifts are so effective. Once again, it’s important to consider the type of people who make up your target market. What needs can you speak to by handing people your promotional products? Of course, you want to assist your business. But you will have a better chance of doing so if you assist those who support it first.

5. What is the potential return on investment? As we mentioned earlier, marketing strategies and promo gifts go hand in hand. So it’s important to remember that although you’re paying a lot less than you normally would to advertise your business (promo gifts are incredibly cost-effective when compared to traditional modes of advertising), you should plan out how you intend on profiting as a result of their dispersal.

Be sure to check out our next blog for more ideas to consider when handing out your promo gifts. But be sure to call us at 1-877-748-9884 to order the perfect promo gift for your business today!

3 Of The Best Ways To Attract Customers With Promo Gifts

Posted in Promotional Products on 18.07.14 by John Meloche

P-554-160x160Okay, so we admit it. We have a bit of a bias going on. Even though we enjoy blogging about the various ways in which Canadian business owners can grow their businesses, at Synergy Marketing, we believe that promotional gifts sit at the top of the heap of great advertising ideas. But can you blame us? For quite some time, we’ve been proving that when business owners hand out our high-quality promo gifts to their customers, they grow their reach and increase their sales.

But you don’t have to just take our word for it. On MyTopBusinessIdeas.com, Ajaero Tony Martins writes that “there’s no marketing strategy more effective than a ‘free give away’ to get people’s attention. It doesn’t even have to be great stuff. If it’s free, people will definitely want it. That’s why logo products and promotional items are a great idea for any marketing or advertising campaign.”

And here’s one of the best possible things about using promotional gifts to grow your business. It isn’t expensive! Most business owners are concerned about overreaching their budgets when thinking of ways to advertise. And we completely understand that. After all, most traditional advertising campaigns are quite pricey. TV commercials, radio spots, billboards and print ads can all cost you a pretty penny.

But as Martins points out, “when it comes to using promotional products or items, you don’t have to spend a ton of money to make it worthwhile; as there are some simple and effective ways to use inexpensive products to send a powerful message about who you are as a company.” So how can one use promotional gifts so that they provide maximum effectiveness? Martins makes three suggestions that he believes are smart ways to attract customers.

1. Be Memorable. Think about standing out from the crowd, insists Martins. How can you grab the attention of your potential customers when you first meet them? By attending trade shows and similar events where networking is a must, you’ll want to leave everyone you meet having made an amazing first impression. Consider giving out gifts that no one expects. The more eye-catching, the better. One of Martins’ suggestions is a Frisbee!

2. Be Useful. What makes promotional gifts such amazing advertising tools is that they can be put to use. Flyers and business cards can’t make half the impact as a promotional gift because they are literally good for nothing. Martins points out that pens and calendars, for example, are both popular and effective because they are prone to being used frequently by their recipients. Consider the impact of your client being reminded of your brand on a daily basis.

3. Be Outspoken. “Aside from all of the practical functions they can serve, promotional products can speak to a company’s corporate culture and philosophies,” writes Martins, “A laid back business that believes in a fun atmosphere can use logo items to convey that sense of personality.” He cites water bottles as excellent examples of promo gifts that communicate a company’s principles. In this case, your commitment to health and protecting the environment is conveyed.

As you can imagine, Synergy Marketing has the best Frisbees, pens, calendars and water bottles available in the industry. After all, we do pride ourselves on offering the best promo products! So why not give us a call at 1-877-748-9884 to order to promo gift of your choice today? Our reps are standing by to assist you in selecting the gift that will best represent your business, giving it the greatest possible chance to grow.

6 More Gift-Giving Tips To Consider

Posted in Promotional Products, Synergy Suggestions on 24.09.13 by John Meloche

PF-001_YELLOW-500x500Choosing the right promotional gift is an important part of advertising your business. Our expert staff members, here at Synergy Marketing, know very well the impact that the right promo gift can have on the right customer. Of course, there are so many different gifts to choose from since there are so many different types of businesses out there. It’s important that your gifts have an impact on their recipients.

In yesterday’s blog, we took a look at an article written by Mike Blaney on his “The Marketing Guy” blog. In it, he lists a number of tips on how to properly choose the promotional gift that will best suit the needs of your business. In some cases, there are important questions that you need to ask yourself. In today’s blog, we’ll ask a few of those questions.

Is it a novelty item or useful item of value? There’s nothing wrong with items that are used just for fun. Our Flying Saucers, for example, are great ways to tell everyone at a picnic, outdoor event or family barbeque about your brand. Then again, useful gifts such as pens will deliver daily impacts to people of all walks of life. Do you have a target audience in mind? You should.

What are your competitors doing? It’s always important to know what your competition is up to. But are they giving out promotional gifts as well? It’s very possible. Promo products have been helping business owners across Canada increase their customer bases for decades. You may want to ensure that you’re giving your clients something special so that they’re not swayed by your competitors.

What have you received that made an impact on you? Monitor your success. Take note of the reactions of your customers when you are giving out your gifts. Find out how new customers heard of your business to begin with. As we’ve blogged about in the past, studies have shown that promo gifts encourage repeat business as well as referrals. How has it been working for you?

What will the cost of distribution be? Have you decided if you’re going to be mailing out any of your promotional products? Or will you only be distributing them hand to hand? The impact your gifts will have will be determined, partly, by how you answer these questions. In addition, mailing them will clearly cost more than handing your gifts out personally.

How long will it last? Some gifts do last longer than others. And some gifts do have greater impacts than others. This is where the team at Synergy Marketing really comes in handy. From many years of experience, they know the type of impact each of our gifts have. Some of them only need short term success for immediate turnarounds. And some promote longevity of the company-customer relationship.

Does it look like you are trying to buy their business? This is important to consider. The giving out of gifts is not meant to come off as some kind of desperate measure to get attention. There’s a way to finesse it and do it with class and dignity. The Synergy Marketing staff would be happy to discuss this with you as well. Call them up today at 1-877-748-9884.

Spice Up Your Marketing Strategies This Summer

Posted in Promotional Products, Synergy Suggestions on 04.07.13 by John Meloche

summerSummer is here! And, for most people, it’s quite an exciting time. If you’re a business owner, there’s no doubt that you should be excited. Many of you will be experiencing a spike in sales over the coming months as students are out of school and there’s a lot more time for them to be making purchases. Depending on the industry you are in, the summer may just be your best season.

But let’s suppose that the summer presents more of a cool down for your business than it does a warm up. That means that extra efforts will need to be made in order for your company to succeed between now and the fall. On Intuit.com, Rachel Hartman provides a list of summer marketing ideas to help business owners boost their sales throughout the warmest time of the year. Let’s check them out, shall we?

Lower prices as the temperature rises. It’s hard to argue that customers are attracted to sales and discounts. Hartman suggests that you use the weather to your advantage. One idea is to offer $10 off of every purchase if the temperature reaches above a certain level. It’s up to you to decide what temperature that would be. If you adequately promote this concept, you’ll be doing your business a great service.

Think about it. Each day of the summer, your customers will be taking a look at the weather and thinking about your business at the same time. You may want to consider a few different scenarios so that you don’t give your customers reasons to stay away. In other words, you may also want to offer a special or a discount on any day that it rains, as well.

Reach for the chalk. If you own a storefront, use chalk to advertise special deals on the sidewalk, suggests Hartman. There are a number of other things you can do with chalk including drawing colourful summer scenes or even your business logo. “Chalk art can do more than catch the eyes of passersby,” writes Hartman, noting that it will help increase your reach on social media.

With apps such as Instagram all the rage these days, it will be important to give people reasons to take pictures of your business that include its products and its exterior. The cooler and more interesting your chalk art is, the more likely it is you will be getting people to snap shots of it. With that being said, it’s important to establish and promote your own social media profiles so that you can be tagged, liked and followed!

Give away seasonal items. As always, the lists of tips we locate on the internet include advice on giving away promotional gifts. At Synergy Marketing, we provide the best promo products in the business. Considering that it is the summertime, you may want to consider giving away items that suit the season, just as Hartman suggests. Sunglasses, for example, make great gifts for your most important clients.

Water bottles are also very popular gifts in the summer. Flying saucers are also excellent as they are both a lot of fun and quite inexpensive to invest in as promo gifts. There are various ways to present your clients with these great gifts. Hartman recommends, as one example, that when your clients come in for their appointments that you consider giving them your summer-related items as a “thank you”.

We’ll continue to explore this list in tomorrow’s blog!
