4 Great Ways To Impress Your Customers All Spring Long

Posted in Small Business Advertising, Synergy Suggestions on 11.03.16 by John Meloche

Gorgeous girlfriends with paperbags walking down trade centerGetting your business ready for spring doesn’t have to be a hard task. But it will certainly take some effort. And, with the help of Synergy Marketing’s great tips, it actually won’t feel like much effort at all. In yesterday’s blog, we provided some simple ways that we can all grow our customer bases this spring. In today’s blog, we’ll look at some great ways to impress your customers all spring long!

Here are four:

1. Get in touch with your customers. There’s nothing like reaching out and touching somebody – metaphorically speaking, of course. Before the seasons change over, do your best to contact your customers to let them know you’re thinking about them. Consider that the upcoming spring is a new beginning. Take the opportunity to re-establish relationships that may otherwise have fizzled out.

On LinkedIn.com, Susan Friesen agrees with this approach. She advises business owners to take some time to pick up the phone and make some important calls to both new and old customers. “Just as spring is a time of new beginnings for you, the same principle applies for your potential clients,” she writes, “People are in a hopeful, happy mood and are more amiable to making decisions, developing plans and moving forward.”

2. Do some online spring cleaning. This wouldn’t be the first time that we’ve recommended sprucing up your website. Keep in mind that, to a large number of consumers, your website is the first place that is visited to learn of your business. If it isn’t being updated regularly, it will appear as if your business isn’t doing well. The advent of spring is a great reason to add some new touches to your website’s design.

Friesen agrees that the springtime is an ideal time to spruce up your website. “If you haven’t updated your website for a while, this is a great time to give it a freshen-up,” she believes, “Just like you wouldn’t be reading the Thursday newspaper to find out what happened on Monday, your potential clients also don’t want to see old news on your website.”

3. Go to networking events. With the end of winter approaching, there will be many more opportunities to get out into the sunshine. Warm weather inevitably brings people reasons to enjoy the great outdoors. Furthermore, there are bound to be many more industry events – both indoors and outdoors – that you can take advantage of by showing up to network with other industry professionals.

Friesen certainly advocates this practice as well. “No amount of online efforts will ever replace the benefits of in-person networking,” she insists, “The key is to find the right networking groups and events to participate in. Ask around in your local community or research to see what live events are happening that you can attend and there, you will gain a huge boost in building relationships and credibility.”

4. Give out spring-themed promo gifts. Arguably, there is no better place to market your company this spring than those networking events we just mentioned. And, when at these events, there’s no better way to make great impressions than to leave everyone you meet with a useful promotional product. At Synergy Marketing, we provide a wide array of spring-themed promo gifts such as our awesome Flying Saucers!

3 Simple Ways To Grow Your Customer Base This Spring

Posted in Small Business Advertising, Synergy Suggestions on 10.03.16 by John Meloche

pretty woman showing her credit cards after a good shopping in a sun dayIn yesterday’s blog, we provided the wonderful restaurant owners of Canada with a few marketing strategies that are sure to help them to increase foot traffic into their places of business this spring. However, we didn’t mean to leave out all of the rest of the great entrepreneurs in this great country of ours. We’re all pretty excited that spring is on the way. So, in today’s blog, let’s look at some simple ways we can all grow our customer bases this spring!

Here are three:

1. Offer spring discounts to your new email marketing subscribers. Many entrepreneurs spend a great deal of time online, looking to grow their reaches through online marketing. This is an excellent idea! As you may know, Synergy Marketing introduced its own Insider E-Flyer Program not that long ago. Use the upcoming spring season to promote a special spring sale to those who have subscribed to your emailing list.

This is a strategy that comes highly recommended by Erik Sherman on Inc.com, “Did you spend the winter growing your subscriber base?” he asks, “Then consider trying some work to extend customer loyalty. Concentrate on deals and specials? Maybe it’s time to draw them into your social networks. This might keep customers from falling into automatic responses to campaigns that may be lulling them to sleep.”

2. Conduct a customer satisfaction survey. Just how much do your customers like your business? Do you truly know the answer to that question? Perhaps, the best way to start your spring is to reinvigorate your commitment to customer service. And you can do that my conducting a customer satisfaction survey. This “spring cleaning” strategy of sorts will help to diminish any flaws in your approach to pleasing your customers.

Sherman writes that “if people aren’t happy, they’re more likely to disappear than to let you know something is wrong. So find out how you’re doing and see where you might strengthen operations.” You can conduct your survey either online or offline. Set up a quick and easy webpage that allows people to fill out answers to questions pertaining to how they feel about your business. And don’t be afraid to offer incentive-laden hard copy surveys to those who visit you in person.

3. Don’t leave your employees out of the loop. If you’re going to take measures to improve relations between your business and its customers, it’s wise to consider the feelings of your employees as well. It’s so very often said (at least on this blog, it is) that a happy staff is a productive staff. So how happy are the people who work for you? Be sure to address any concerns the members of your team may have as you go into the spring season.

Sherman practically insists that you ask your employees what’s wrong. “You may know your business from one view, but those on the daily firing line are more likely to see things that might becoming tripping points,” he says, “Make sure that they understand you want to hear bad news and that no messengers will be injured in the process.”

Be sure to check back for tomorrow’s blog as we continue to list ways to impress your customers all spring long! And don’t forget to place your order for the promo gift of your choice by calling Synergy Marketing at 1-877-748-9884 between 9am and 5pm EST or email us at info@gosynergygo.com!

3 More Ways Spring Cleaning Can Benefit Your Brand

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 01.04.15 by John Meloche

Clear blue skyWell, hello April! So nice of you to arrive. If you wouldn’t mind bringing along the weather that your month is generally known for, we’d all very much appreciate it! As a Canadian, you sometimes have to understand that the weather can be unpredictable. But as a Canadian business owner, it’s always important to be mindful of the changes that you can make when the seasons transition from one to the other.

Seasonal changes are great times for introducing new promotions. Special “spring sales”, for example, easily come to mind as ways to welcome new customers into your stores. Another way to boost sales is to do a bit of “spring cleaning” for your business. As we stated in yesterday’s blog, there are number of ways that you can “spring clean” in order to grow your success in the coming months. Here are three more ideas.

1. Revisit your long-term goals. At the conclusion of yesterday’s blog, we noted the importance of updating your business plan. According to Forbes.com, reassessing your goals is a commitment you should make to your business at least once yearly. Don’t forget about your long-term goals, insists the site. With the passing of time, things change. Therefore, you may need to change your outlook on how to run your business.

“You might find that your expectations, needs, and ambitions are different than they once were,” says the website, “Maybe your concept of how your business should evolve has changed, or your perception of how the company will look down the road. It’s totally okay for your goals to change – but you have to be aware of that. If you determine that the overarching aspirations are the same, check in on your progress towards achieving them. What could you be doing more of?”

2. Organize your emails. Here is where spring cleaning for your business begins to take on a similar look as the spring cleaning you do at home. Neatening things up a bit never hurt anyone. And it certainly won’t hurt for you to delete some of that junk in your inbox and return those messages you may have overlooked, thanks to your busy schedule. Depending on the number of emails you have, this may be time consuming. But it will be worth it in the long run.

“Clear a whole afternoon, pound some caffeine, and go nuts,” encourages Forbes.com, “If the whole thing is simply too overwhelming, or your know that your brain just isn’t naturally that strong at implementing complex organizational systems, hire someone to do it for you. It’s a relatively minor expense that will improve your work zone feng shui and make your entire communications methods feel infinitely more manageable.”

3. Clean your office. Now here is where spring cleaning for your business takes on the exact same approach as spring cleaning at home. It is often said that a cluttered workspace makes for a cluttered mind. You may be surprised how effective a little bit of organization can improve your work day. Take the time to throw garbage out, file important papers, put supplies back in their drawers and wipe down your workstation with disinfectant cloths.

Not to mention, you may want to get the vacuum out if you’re not prone to looking behind desks and under tables. You’d be surprised what accumulates in these areas when they go unnoticed. A new and improved office will help both you and your staff to function better on a daily basis. And hey, once your office is clean, you may want to decorate it with promotional gifts that bear your company’s name and logo. Offer them to your staff as incentives. They work wonders in boost employee morale.

3 Great Spring Cleaning Ideas For Your Business

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 31.03.15 by John Meloche

Depositphotos_54769157_xsIn the City of Toronto – where Synergy Marketing is proudly headquartered – it doesn’t exactly feel like spring yet. We know that warmer weather is on the way. But we’d sure like for it to hurry up! Have you had enough of winter as well? If so, there are some things that you can do for your business to rid it of the winter blues. And what better way to do that than some spring cleaning? Yes, spring cleaning shouldn’t just be left to residences.

The advent of spring is the perfect time to clean things up at your business. “It’s exactly like regular spring cleaning except it involves way less elbow grease and a lot more professional evaluating,” says Forbes.com, “Okay, so it’s nothing like regular spring cleaning.” What it is, in fact, is recharging your business with a new energy and attitude that will help it to achieve greater success than in months past. Here are three great ways to do that.

1. Freshen up your online presence. At Synergy Marketing, we’re happy to say that we jumped the gun on this one. Just before spring started, we revamped our website to give it a cooler, sleeker and cleaner look. We also introduced some new products and ensured that our product pages looked a whole lot better by adding amazing new photos. We also made sure to spruce up our Facebook and Twitter profiles with our updated business logo.

“Go through and take stock of what your online presence is like,” suggests Forbes.com, “Is there some copy on your site that could be rewritten to sound better or more accurately reflect slight shifts in your target market, or what kinds of services you are focusing on now? Is your brand being represented as effectively as possible? Now is a good time to tighten things up and fix up all the little details that, although they don’t take a lot of effort, make a big impact.”

2. Strengthen your staff. Forbes.com assures that it is not encouraging anyone to go on a firing spree. But sometimes, a little trimming of the fat is necessary. It may sound a bit harsh to use such a euphemism when it comes to people who work for you, but it’s important to be abreast of issues within your company that exist at the hands of less-than-stellar employees. Let’s face it – we’ve all had experiences with them.

According to the website, “it’s smart to take a minute to reflect on what needs your company has, which roles are being filled well, which ones could possibly be better executed, which ones are no longer as crucial per changes in how your company operates, and which new needs might necessitate redistribution of staff responsibilities or role definitions, or might require hiring one or two new people entirely.”

3. Update your business plan. In yesterday’s blog, we commented upon the importance of having a sound business strategy. And one of the ways we suggested you do that is by focusing in on a primary goal for your business. However, as time passes, your objectives may change. There may be some opportunities for your business to grow in new directions when you reassess what it is you’re trying to achieve.

Forbes.com recommends that you revisit your business plan at least once a year. Sometimes, reminding yourself of your original objective is all you need to encourage you to motor through to the next stages of accomplishing your goals. Perhaps, no change is necessary at all. But it’s important to be mindful of your goals so that you don’t lose sight of how to reach them. It will help to keep you as focused as you were when you started your business.

Be sure to check back for tomorrow’s blog as we continue to analyze ways that you can do some spring cleaning at your business. And for any questions about our fantastic promo gifts, don’t hesitate to call Synergy Marketing at 1-877-748-9884.
