4 Great Ways To Impress Your Customers All Spring Long

Posted in Small Business Advertising, Synergy Suggestions on 11.03.16 by John Meloche

Gorgeous girlfriends with paperbags walking down trade centerGetting your business ready for spring doesn’t have to be a hard task. But it will certainly take some effort. And, with the help of Synergy Marketing’s great tips, it actually won’t feel like much effort at all. In yesterday’s blog, we provided some simple ways that we can all grow our customer bases this spring. In today’s blog, we’ll look at some great ways to impress your customers all spring long!

Here are four:

1. Get in touch with your customers. There’s nothing like reaching out and touching somebody – metaphorically speaking, of course. Before the seasons change over, do your best to contact your customers to let them know you’re thinking about them. Consider that the upcoming spring is a new beginning. Take the opportunity to re-establish relationships that may otherwise have fizzled out.

On LinkedIn.com, Susan Friesen agrees with this approach. She advises business owners to take some time to pick up the phone and make some important calls to both new and old customers. “Just as spring is a time of new beginnings for you, the same principle applies for your potential clients,” she writes, “People are in a hopeful, happy mood and are more amiable to making decisions, developing plans and moving forward.”

2. Do some online spring cleaning. This wouldn’t be the first time that we’ve recommended sprucing up your website. Keep in mind that, to a large number of consumers, your website is the first place that is visited to learn of your business. If it isn’t being updated regularly, it will appear as if your business isn’t doing well. The advent of spring is a great reason to add some new touches to your website’s design.

Friesen agrees that the springtime is an ideal time to spruce up your website. “If you haven’t updated your website for a while, this is a great time to give it a freshen-up,” she believes, “Just like you wouldn’t be reading the Thursday newspaper to find out what happened on Monday, your potential clients also don’t want to see old news on your website.”

3. Go to networking events. With the end of winter approaching, there will be many more opportunities to get out into the sunshine. Warm weather inevitably brings people reasons to enjoy the great outdoors. Furthermore, there are bound to be many more industry events – both indoors and outdoors – that you can take advantage of by showing up to network with other industry professionals.

Friesen certainly advocates this practice as well. “No amount of online efforts will ever replace the benefits of in-person networking,” she insists, “The key is to find the right networking groups and events to participate in. Ask around in your local community or research to see what live events are happening that you can attend and there, you will gain a huge boost in building relationships and credibility.”

4. Give out spring-themed promo gifts. Arguably, there is no better place to market your company this spring than those networking events we just mentioned. And, when at these events, there’s no better way to make great impressions than to leave everyone you meet with a useful promotional product. At Synergy Marketing, we provide a wide array of spring-themed promo gifts such as our awesome Flying Saucers!

3 Simple Ways To Grow Your Customer Base This Spring

Posted in Small Business Advertising, Synergy Suggestions on 10.03.16 by John Meloche

pretty woman showing her credit cards after a good shopping in a sun dayIn yesterday’s blog, we provided the wonderful restaurant owners of Canada with a few marketing strategies that are sure to help them to increase foot traffic into their places of business this spring. However, we didn’t mean to leave out all of the rest of the great entrepreneurs in this great country of ours. We’re all pretty excited that spring is on the way. So, in today’s blog, let’s look at some simple ways we can all grow our customer bases this spring!

Here are three:

1. Offer spring discounts to your new email marketing subscribers. Many entrepreneurs spend a great deal of time online, looking to grow their reaches through online marketing. This is an excellent idea! As you may know, Synergy Marketing introduced its own Insider E-Flyer Program not that long ago. Use the upcoming spring season to promote a special spring sale to those who have subscribed to your emailing list.

This is a strategy that comes highly recommended by Erik Sherman on Inc.com, “Did you spend the winter growing your subscriber base?” he asks, “Then consider trying some work to extend customer loyalty. Concentrate on deals and specials? Maybe it’s time to draw them into your social networks. This might keep customers from falling into automatic responses to campaigns that may be lulling them to sleep.”

2. Conduct a customer satisfaction survey. Just how much do your customers like your business? Do you truly know the answer to that question? Perhaps, the best way to start your spring is to reinvigorate your commitment to customer service. And you can do that my conducting a customer satisfaction survey. This “spring cleaning” strategy of sorts will help to diminish any flaws in your approach to pleasing your customers.

Sherman writes that “if people aren’t happy, they’re more likely to disappear than to let you know something is wrong. So find out how you’re doing and see where you might strengthen operations.” You can conduct your survey either online or offline. Set up a quick and easy webpage that allows people to fill out answers to questions pertaining to how they feel about your business. And don’t be afraid to offer incentive-laden hard copy surveys to those who visit you in person.

3. Don’t leave your employees out of the loop. If you’re going to take measures to improve relations between your business and its customers, it’s wise to consider the feelings of your employees as well. It’s so very often said (at least on this blog, it is) that a happy staff is a productive staff. So how happy are the people who work for you? Be sure to address any concerns the members of your team may have as you go into the spring season.

Sherman practically insists that you ask your employees what’s wrong. “You may know your business from one view, but those on the daily firing line are more likely to see things that might becoming tripping points,” he says, “Make sure that they understand you want to hear bad news and that no messengers will be injured in the process.”

Be sure to check back for tomorrow’s blog as we continue to list ways to impress your customers all spring long! And don’t forget to place your order for the promo gift of your choice by calling Synergy Marketing at 1-877-748-9884 between 9am and 5pm EST or email us at info@gosynergygo.com!

6 Sweet Promotional Ideas For Spring

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 20.05.14 by John Meloche

spring labels collection with textWe hope that you all enjoyed your Victoria Day long weekend! And we hope that one of the things you were able to enjoy about it was the wonderful, warm weather. At least in Toronto – where Synergy Marketing is headquartered – it was a great holiday to be outdoors. Now, that we’re back to our work week, this past long weekend can’t help but make us think about how to help promote your business in the coming months.

Warm weather often brings out the best in people. Not to mention, it brings more of those people out! That means, when the weather heats up, your business is bound to attract more attention. This is why it’s important to put a little “spring” into the ways in which you promote your business. On DermalInstitute.com, Erin Carey writes about ways to step your promotional game up for the spring. Here are her top six tips.

1. Start small. Although Carey specifies her advertising tips for skin care clinics and treatment centres, her ideas can help a wide range of businesses. For example, when she recommends that you begin weekly “mini events”, there are various ways that you can make that work for your business. On days when the sun is out, maybe you should move a few items outdoors for a “sidewalk sale”. Simple and easy. You get the idea.

2. Partner with other businesses. It’s fair to say that you won’t be the only business owner running special promotions for the spring. You may want to affiliate yourself with other local businesses that don’t represent your competition, in order to get a little cross-promoting going. However, as Carey suggests, “when looking to cross promote, look for businesses that share common ground with you.”

3. Introduce a new package. Skin care clinics aren’t the only business types to be able to provide their customers with special packages that commemorate the spring season. In what ways can you bundle your products and services so that your customers can enjoy larger discounts? It’s all about providing additional value. Your new “spring packages” will greatly help to attract more customers and increase your sales.

4. Display flowers. According to Carey, “it’s always great to keep fresh cut flowers in your business to create a warm and inviting environment. A small bouquet near your cash wrap is all you need but it helps create a sense of renewal and beauty, and I believe it helps increase sales.” Of course, this may not be appropriate for every type of business. But would it work for yours?

5. Plan celebration events. It’s the spring. There are so many things that you can “celebrate”. If you missed out on celebrating Mother’s Day at your business, it’s not too late to acknowledge Father’s Day. Not to mention, summer is around the corner. And that’s worth celebrating! Bringing more attention to your business can be done through a variety of events that simply celebrate your business. Just be creative!

6. Offer a gift. As you can imagine, it is this piece of Carey’s advice that we agree with the most. For many years, we have been proving that promotional gifts help to boost sales, garner referrals and strengthen customer relationships. When your customers make purchases from you this spring, make sure that you add little gifts to the transactions. As Carey points out, “clients always love a gift when they make a purchase, even if it is small.”

Let’s get you the perfect promotional gift to boost your business. Call Synergy Marketing at 1-877-748-9884 today!

4 Spring-Themed Business-Boosting Ideas

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 02.04.14 by John Meloche

Happy Young Woman Jumping Over Blue SkyWell, April is finally here! And by all accounts, spring should definitely be in the air. Technically, spring has already started. But it seems like the weather is taking its time to catch up with the time of year. At least it is in Toronto, which is the home of Synergy Marketing. It’s getting a bit milder out there, but the real warmth and sunshine that generally comes with spring is yet to arrive.

That said, it’s important to put a little spring in your step when it comes to promoting your business during this new season. And yes, the pun was definitely intended! As you know, people tend to come out of their homes more often during the warmer parts of the year. And there are surely some ways that you can take advantage of that. VernonCompany.com certainly agrees.

According to the website, “associating your marketing strategies with upcoming warm-weather events and activities will increase your brand visibility, helping you grow your business.” In today’s blog, we’d like to review a few ideas listed by the site to help you take your business to new heights this spring. What could be better than a boost in sales to go along with that warm and sunny weather?

Spring into action. VernonCompany.com reminds us that spring and outdoor activities go hand in hand. One idea is to promote your business using activity-based items that are used for outdoor activities. Water bottles are one of the examples given. Now, if your company doesn’t sell such outdoor-friendly products, this would be a good opportunity to give out promotional items that can take care of the job for you!

Spring fling. In addition to outdoor-themed items, outdoor events will work amazingly in the promotion of your company this spring. What better situation to hand out your promo gifts and welcome new customers to your brand? The website even suggests handing out such promo gifts as sunglasses and golf gear to put smiles on the faces of your attendees. Naturally, Synergy Marketing can help you with those.

Spring awakenings. Consider the many different things that your customers can do during the spring time. Now think about the ways your goods and services can assist them. Is there a way to customize what you offer to meet their spring time needs? Create packages that combine your products with those of an affiliate company if you feel that your products alone may not quite cut it on their own.

Spring cleaning. “Out with the old, in with fresh, new ideas to promote your brand,” says VernonCompany.com. Focus on cleaning up the environment. Maybe you can begin a rally of some kind or sponsor a neighborhood cleanup. There is virtually no downside to helping out your community. Making a good impression on those who live nearest to your place of business can never be a bad thing.

Our take on these suggestions is just one way we can help boost your brand during this spring season. As you know, our great promotional products can certainly assist you with sparking new relationships, making good impressions and garnering referrals to your business. Promo gifts have worked for decades for all types of business owners – and they’ll work for you too! Call Synergy Marketing at 1-877-748-9884 today.

Putting A Spring In Your Marketing Steps

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 14.03.14 by John Meloche

Flowerpots on old stairsOkay, so spring is officially under one week away. It sure doesn’t feel like it, does it? It’s been a snowy week in Toronto, making us feel as if there is truly no end to this dreadfully cold winter. The calendar can’t be stopped, however. And no matter what, spring is on the way. The cold and snowy days have to come to an end at some point, don’t they? Of course they do!

And that should be good news, not only to lovers of warmth and sunshine, but to business owners all over Canada. As we discussed in yesterday’s blog, the changing of the seasons allows for entrepreneurs to begin promoting their businesses in new ways. It’s important to take advantage of the changing weather and the new moods that come with it to promote your brand.

On Swipely.com, there are a number of tips listed on how to promote your business during the spring. Among them are simply talking about the weather and acknowledging the various holidays that take place throughout spring. In today’s blog, we’ll review a few more tips found on the website. Spring is coming. So let’s see how you can get in on the action now!

Sports & March Madness. Speaking of action, that’s what spring is all about! It’s an absolutely excellent time for sports. The Major League Baseball season gets underway (Let’s go Blue Jays!), the Stanley Cup Playoffs are set to begin (Go Leafs Go!) and then there’s March Madness which is a very popular NCAA basketball tournament. Do you have television sets set up at your place of business?

Make it a point to keep them tuned to big sporting events this spring. Doing so is bound to attract customers so that they remain for longer periods of time in your shop. Needless to say, sports make for great conversation starters. You’re bound to meet fellow fans of your favourite teams. Even if you don’t have TVs at work, talk about recent games and you’re likely to easily engage a lot of your clients.

Spring Cleaning + Fresh New Inventory. According to Swipely.com, “spring is a time to show off new product lines, and also for clothes retailers to remind customers that it’s time for cleaning out the closets and making room.” The changing of the seasons always helps for people to get that “wanting to start anew” feeling. Offer your customers ways that they can do just that.

Introduce a new product line. Begin a new “spring sale”. Offer significant discounts on your winter-based items. Plan a spring time celebration! There are countless ways that you can let your customers know that your business is celebrating the beginning of spring. In addition to new items, new décor will help to do the trick. It’s all about starting fresh and helping your customers to do the same.

Mix and Match. Maybe you’re not sure what elements of spring you want to use in your next round of marketing, says Swipely.com. Perhaps, using all or some of the suggestions provided in our last two blogs is the way to go. Use what feels best for you and your company. As long as you’re trying something new and inventive, it’s hard to go wrong. After all, how could we all not enjoy the disappearance of winter?

Getting Into The Spring Of Things

Posted in Synergy Suggestions on 13.03.14 by John Meloche

Happy TimeYou wouldn’t know it by the weather out there, but believe it or not, spring is actually on the way. This may be especially hard for Torontonians to take as truth. Just yesterday, the city that is home to Synergy Marketing headquarters was hit with yet another snow storm. It’s been one bad winter in the City of Toronto. Nevertheless, spring is still set to begin this month.

According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, spring begins at 12:57 p.m. EDT on March 20th. Many around the Synergy offices are doubtful that it will feel like spring by that date – which is only a week away! With that said, spring is still spring. And the weather can’t be cold and snowy for much longer. Can it? As a business owner, you can’t assume that it will stay winter forever.

Specifically as it relates to the ways in which you promote your business, preparing for spring is a must. There are various ways to utilize the changing of the season to further boost interest in your brand. On Swipely.com, a list of suggestions is provided to help business owners get into the spring spirit. More specifically, it’s a list of ideas on how to use spring as a way to grow customer interest.

Talk About the Weather. This might be the easiest tip ever listed on the Synergy Marketing Blog. It costs you nothing to do and couldn’t be easier to pull off. People tend to enjoy talking about the weather. This is especially true when the weather is nice. Take advantage of this by opening up conversations with those who enter your place of business.

Put on a smile and take your time to get to know those who walk through the door. Swipely.com suggests you do the same thing using your social networking profiles. “For great in-the-moment marketing on social networks, put up warm weather specials just while everyone is newly excited about the rising temperatures and wanting to get out of the house,” reads the site.

Spring Holidays. There are many great holidays that take place during the spring time. St. Patrick’s Day, Passover, Easter and Mother’s Day are the most popular. Find ways to incorporate each of these days in your promotional campaigns. It can be as easy as decorating your store to acknowledge each of the days. Or better yet, offer special deals on each of these days to encourage more customers to visit you.

Swipely.com offers the following examples: “Many restaurants recently offered traditional Irish food for St. Patrick’s Day, drink specials and other retailers played up the green and “lucky” associations. Don’t forget Passover approaching if you offer kosher foods! And Easter and Mother’s Day can be popular days for brunch, as well as flowers, jewelry and small gifts.”

It seems like spring is so far away, doesn’t it? But, it’s coming up really soon, ladies and gentlemen – we promise! Not that we have any control over the weather. We just know that the winter has to end sometime. And, a business owner, it’s best that you prepare for it. Contact Synergy Marketing at 1-877-748-9884 to learn more about how our promo gifts can help you boost business this spring.

And be sure to check back for tomorrow’s blog as we continue to provide tips on how to promote your company this spring.
